Holidays Holidays

I can't believe it. It has been only almost a week since the ski trip past. Now we are talking about tour New Zealand at end of our exams this semester.

Oh New Zealand....Land of Middle of Earth. Is Arwen there? Or maybe the girls could find Aragon or the gay elf. haha. I think i gonna spend more time thinking of activites than on actual studies.

And i think i m gonna put on weight again. Has not been exercising:( Weather is good nowadays. Hope it last and i can find the motivation to go exercise.

Shall go slowly find info for the New Zealand Trip haha.

In School

Writing this on my laptop in school. Have to take the shuttle bus at 8 for my 10am lesson. Therefore free time of about an hour plus.

The dessert i had for last night, courtesy of Estee & Cherisa. Its made up of barley, Gingko, Beancurd skin. Then cooked with rock sugar & pandan leaf. Nice stuff....Heard that its good for skin complexion too! hahaha.

Technology is so cool. Can just walk around the school naked with your laptop and have internet access.

So far 2 weeks into my school term. Its all good. Have not receive any assignment yet though. So far my dinner has been mostly group affairs. The gers taking turns to cook, while the guys just eat & eat, and clean up:p I think I am gonna put on weight. No good.

Been listening to some rock classics on my Zen Micro on the way to school. Been listening to songs such as I Remember You by Skid Row, Rough Boy by ZZ Top. Its mostly rock classic from the early 90s or late 80s. The only artists i listen to, that are on the radios currently are Oasis and Hoobastank. Seems like Not really interested in modern music nowadays.

So besides school here, basically there is anything much. I haven find/go to church(sad to say), have not played any soccer yet(just one kick around session). So I have the time to erm...type such nonsense here.

Oh yeah and is there any mandarain mp3 torrent sites to recommend? I have difficulties finding. And any nice chinese artist to recommend? Drop me a comment if you have any to recommend.

And yeah and Corrinne May is nice too......Check it out too.

Till next time.....

Preferences

Since I have some time before i have to leave for my lesson, i shall try to write some stuff here.

Ever since i came to Melbourne to study, many people in both Singapore and Australia have been shooting me this same question. Are you going to be staying in Australia for good? Do you prefer Melbourne or Singapore. From Singaporeans, the chinese, old friends in australia, old friends from singapore.

Both countries definitely have its pros and cons. And as they say Grass always seem greener on the other side. Some prefer the weather in melbourne but hey!! i don't think the weather is a good enough reason for leaving your home country. But ok lets start the pros & cons of down under......from my view.

Lets start with....the pros of Down under compared to Singapore.

  • Cheaper Cars

  • Cheaper houses

  • Golf is cheaper definitely!

  • A more relaxed pace of life(applies to some people only. Some may prefer the hustle bustle of singapore)

  • More liberal society

Now the cons of down under

  • Lets face it. There will always be some cases of prejudice against the immigrants

  • Higher cost of living(may not equal to higher standard)

  • Higher tax

  • Shops closes early

  • Lousy public transport(it can be another topic by itself)

And some more....lazy to think. But as you can see, the pros of what australia over singapore has are only mostly the tangible stuff, not that money does not matter to me. I don't think i will ever leave my home just because of those reasons. Why stay in Singapore? You have your food, the coffee places that are open till late. And not forgetting those people that have been with me always, my loved ones, family members & friends.

And what would make me want to leave Singapore then? Unless i am looking for something new, maybe when i really want to live away from my famuily. Maybe when i want to get away from everything. Where there is there for me in Singapore, then maybe i will leave.

Falls Creek 2005 Part 2

First part of Falls Creek Part 1 ended with the end of the skiing activities. So now part 2....

but first let me say....i have squeezed my pimple out

At around 5pm, we ended our skiing activities, returned our equipments and went back to the lodge for a bath and prepare for dinner. Free time before dinner was spent sitting around in the lobby with the rest of the guest of the lodge or playing pool, or massaging aching legs.

Shoot a little pool

The fireplace made the whole place seemed so cosy. The size of the place was just right for that number of people(around 30).

Dinner was then served at around 7pm. it was not like a cafeteria or food court. I think it was quite an Aussie meal, with soup, salad and then the grilled beef steak( cooked by the owner of the lodge)...mmm nice but i think its overcooked on the outside...ok beggars cant be choosers. So it was quite alrite...then finishing off with pvalova(something like that lah!)

The Dinner

The Dessert

An early night for most of us. I know i had an early night. Next morning my body was feeling the aches, so lazy to get up. But still...paid for breakfast at the lodge already! so must go eat. If not Lugi(Loogee,Loogi whatever)!!

Typical breakfast, with sausages, eggs and hashbrowns. With some mix fruits and cereal for choice. I think i tried almost all that were available.

Had a walk in the cold after breakfast. Weather wasn't that good. Foggy, visibility poor. Having difficulties seeing beyond 20m. Besides that we were also of course.....taking photos! More photos.
Unfortunately Me is lazy bum. Me lazy upload lotsa of pics.

Checked out of that place, started the long drive home. Had dinner at Springvale then home...finally. Quite a shag weekend but still loads of fun. all thanks to the guys and girls that made this trip possible. If you are interested in checking out more photos, click HERE.

Falls Creek 2005 Part 1

Monday, start of a new week. Muscles (yes i have some) are still aching abit from the skiing on saturday. So that explains what kind of physical condition I am in. So now a descriptive compo coming up. Sorry ah...if too boring too dry. My engrish just make it only.

Plan was to buy some stuff on friday afternoon for the trip, leave around midnight then reach Falls Creek early in the morning. But of course! not without celebrating One True Love's birthday. In fact a surprise one!! Have to think of such things to make up lack of present for her(yes no present for her. and yah i feel so damn bad)

I am so sorry baby! I make it up as soon as i can find a worthy present. More about birthday later.

A group of us had a simple dinner together, then dessert. Then after Cherisa managing to get Her away from the living room, the guys brought out the cakes and the fireworks and started the show. She was surprised! Erm actually i hope she really was surprised. So a few photos and eating of the cake. Those who have a house nearby went back to pack and rest.

Ok so back to the trip.......

We were a group of 8. Two cars were to be our transport. Estimated driving time....5 hours. And around midnight we headed off. Drove for awhile...stopped at petrol kiosk around Seymour for a refuel,a bite, a drink and a leak, and some smoke.

Continued driving, missed a turn. so had to turn back. In a rush to make up some time, we sped.....and were caught. Not a good start. Drivers got a hefty fine. Traffic fines here in VIC is always no good. so damn sensitive..meaning even if you were to get caught just 3km/hr above the limit, still a fine. Not much allowance compared to Singapore's. And the fines are so damn expensive...example for 7km/hr above speed limit AUD$150.

ok so we try not to think about it. Continue to drive and finally reaching Falls Creek around 8plus in the morning. Didnt waste much time as we went to our accomadations, put our stuff down, rented the ski equipments and off we go!

All of us, had only maybe ski once or twice and some none! but we were so damn garang loh!! All said that they no need lessons whatsoever!!Except for T who was the cool and hip one, went for snowboarding and lessons.

And so we put on our equipments and off we go!! Onto the ski lift to the top

After some struggle and a couple of pushes, some of us embarked on the wombat ramble trail. Where some of us fell and fell until they "cannot recognise house"(buay din chu - in hokkien).

First run took about 2hours:p She and I were falling, rest, continue, fall, rest continue. Repeat that for 1000 times, hence the 2 hours. And poor thing...She got some bruise and cuts on her legs when she looked through her legs at end of the day.

After lunch, i went on to have a few more runs...each time trying to get faster. but also not too fast....dun wanna fall. On the last run, I actually lost my way...ended up on a trail that was quite erm challenging, so i chickened out, as i had another friend who was lost with me.(I am a horlan king). But still managed to find our way after hiking back onto the trail we were planning to take:p

ok next part another time....tired. gonna dream some dreams...nice one hopefully.......

Silly questions of the week

Overheard these during my lectures.....
  1. What is the differences between a lecture and a tutorial?
  2. After lecturer says she have not decide on the format of the exam, a smart guy asked "So is the exam going to be all MCQ format? How is the format like?"
Gonna be up in falls creek this weekend for some ski or snowboarding actions. pictures coming up hopefully. Lets hope i don't forget my camera.

Till next week...tata

I think allulu's previous life got something to do with saving the helpless. Still remember one of his dreams ages back was about he morphing into a power ranger or something like that.

Another 1 by my xiong di would be James, which has been around for quite sometime already. Hey i love the stingy shitter joke....haha tell me more!!!

Sucky timetable

Mid week wednesday.....just realised that i have quite a lousy timetable. Monday 1x tut and 1x lecture. Tuesday FREE DAY...GOOD.

Wednesday.....worst of the lot. start at nine with a lecture and tut each 1hr....break 2 hrs.have 2 hrs lecture.break 2 hrs then 4- 7freakin pm with a tutorial and lecture in it.

Thursday not too bad....a tut and lecture. and friday just a lecture....but i seem to like that lecture so i ain't complaining about travelling to school for an hours lecture.

The wednesday evening lecture 5-7freaking pm....is as plain as plain water, as dry as the desert, as boring as erm ......whatever. so not worth any part time student's time man!! yeah the topic is about business systems, and its supposed to be as what i described above. but hey the lecturer isn't doing much to help either.

But well...whatever lah. Now looking forward to the ski trip this weekend to falls creek. Really quite enjoying the time now....getting to know people. and all this stuff. People who know me should be scratching their heads as I am quite lazy to go get to know new people and all that....but haha...i m enjoying it.

Ta Ma De!!

What a loser day!! I woke up ard 10+ 11...saw the sun in the skies. Good day to run. I washed up, slack awhile, changed and did some warm ups. When i stepped out of the house ard 1pm( yah lah slack quite awhile)......skies had turned dark alittle, wind was quite strong too.

"Never mind. Its always windy and cloudy, so thats why its dark and windy" I thought to myself. So i started to run.

Into 3-400m, i felt raindrops. Nevermind i shall press on. About my 500m mark, i felt raindrops big raindrop......NB, what a loser. So i turned back n start to run home. Rain stopped but i was discouraged to run already.

Here I am supposed to run , but typing away here. But at least it has started to really rain.

Not a good idea

It is not a good idea to watch shows from Jamie Oliver or any of that sort when you are eating stuff like this.

My creation....Microwaved baked beans with 2 eggs. I looked at my food, then looked at those on the TV screen, shake at head and proceed to finish my food.

I have been watching Star Wars 4 5 6. First time watching.....so i m hearing the sources of those famous lines such as "The force is strong", "resistance is futile" or some sorts.....

Jabba the Hutt!!!

See already wanna hoot!! And Yoda is so....erm cartoon and behave like a kiddy?? But still....overall good story line. Now all i have to do is get my hands on Episode 1 & 2.

Boring day

Hi di ho! Nothing to do, therefore nothing to write. Just fixed up my bed, table and chair after they were delivered to me. Bought it from Ikea, total AUD$375(something like that).

Its just like lego or jigsaw puzzle.fixing it according to the diagrams in the instructions.

In the beginning.......

then

and then finally .....

Had some difficulties screwing in some of the self threading screw onto the bed....erm so i left them out. Should be safe for usage.*fingers crossed*

Its a double size bed. Its for a single person. Its bigger than a super single bed, smaller than a queen. Luxurious.....to me. Biggest bed i have got so far.....

I think i will research some web hosting stuff...for my dad's website. Been procrastinating for long long time. High time since i did something.

Touchdown Melbourne

Writing on the 2nd day since reaching Australia. In singapore have to tahan the heat. Come here have to tahan the cold at night. Hmmm....i sense a complain coming up, so i think i stop abit.

Reached the airport, went through the customs with some glitch where they could not scan my passport. So abit of waiting over here. Then i declared some items ot the customs so they had me queuing for awhile to check my stuff. So by the time i got out, it was almost an hour since I walked out of the plane.

I got a chauffeur...i mean some guy from monash waiting for me.....so he sent me to Frankston town. Then we passed by the campus I am going to study. He told me the size was about 2km by 1.7km area. Not really big compared to the ones in Singapore. But if you were to compare it with the Peninsula campus, i think its huge.

I safely reached my place of refuge estee's place, where i am going to stay alone for about 2 week. After setting up my laptop for internet access, i left for town, got some grocerries, got some hangers because i forgot mine. One thing i noticed about this town since a year ago, it seemed to be more crowded than before. Probably due to the entertainment/ cinema multiplex that was built.

I even took a walk around student village, the school hostel, in hope of meeting some familiar faces. Nope. It seems quiet, doors closed. So i made my way home, unpack alittle. I think i made some mess of the place already. I m going to be sooooo died when estee comes back.

Had some fish n chips calamari rings for dinner. Chips would be too much. so skip that. add a beeer to my dinner. Good enough for me. Unpack further, although i think most people would still consider it unpacked. Played abit computer games, watched some old shows "mor mor cha" featuring ritchie ren and sammi cheng....talked on the fone and thats it for the first day!
