A rather pleasant Wednesday

Feeling abit tired lately. Lack of sleep. Each morning automatic wake up. Although during my non-school days i try to sleep in, but still wake up like 9:30+-, which is not good at all, when i sleep around 2+3am on previous nite.

Anyway today is the day where i have to stay in school from 9 to 7. So usually for such wednesday, i would borrow car from either Zen or Alvin drive to school, then park at a free car park outside the school(about 10mins walk). I would pick the car around 3+, then drive and park in school, then go for my tutorial. In school I would need to pay for the parking on a time basis until 4pm, after which is free.

So i did that routine, reached the school carpark around 3:40. So i went to the ticketing machine to purchase the required parking ticket till 4. Just when i was gonna pay, this aussie dude came up to me and said something along the line of.

"Hey you buying a parking ticket eh? Take mine." As he walk towards me and passed it to me. Then he drove off.

I am very appreciative of his gesture to just give his ticket to me, which still has some use, although it might just be for a 20mins park (have to buy. Traffic warden very bloody strict). Had also happened previously before where i was taking a train to city in the late afternoon. As i was gonna purchase the train ticket(cost about AUD$11 & valid for 1day), some of those that just alighted from the train would just pass their tickets to others that might need it.

Then it got me thinking, if i was in Singapore, in what similar ways can it happen and would i do such thing? Parking coupons was the closest i thought of, although not really practical. Singaporean drivers all eat abit here and there, put half hour coupon, park for 45mins, pass to people also over due already. No use haha!

Besides that, i think that it is the act of graciousness that we should try to emulate in Singapore, where people on trains and buses will automatically knock out and sleep in their seats whenever a pregnant lady or elderly comes on the carriage or bus, and has no seats to rest.

Assignments burninate! Incendio!!

Over and Out!
